Coffee With Lions

Just had to share this one from earlier today.

Lioness during coffee stop - Madikwe Game Reserve

Yeah, that’s a lioness trying to take a bite of our hot box during coffee stop this morning!

Tlou Dam, Buffalo and Birding

After almost 100mm of rain this week, Tlou dam is looking a LOT better!

Shot the image above this morning and as you can see the clouds are still hanging around but it has started clearing.  Just…

Game viewing has been quiet due to the surface water everywhere and a huge amount of the roads being closed but the birding has been phenomenal.  This morning we saw six different species of raptors and confirmed sightings around the lodge, during the last two days, include:

  • Woodlands Kingfisher
  • African Green Pigeon
  • Plum Colored Starling
  • Common Sandpiper

Great stuff.  We have, as happens quite often, had more action at the waterhole than on the drive.  Here is a pic from this morning before we braved the muddy roads.

More soon.
