Quick Update

The rain has cleared.  For now.

Even though there is still a lot of surface water around activity has returned to the Nkurru waterhole.  Yesterday afternoon we saw two mating leopard… tortoises!   Quite a fun scene to watch even though the male almost pushed the female right into the waterhole with his over-exuberance!  :)

Sightings have also picked up since the sun came out and we saw Big 5 all in one day.  Pretty good going all in all.  Other news includes:

  • A young rhino died close to Tlou Dam.  It seems lions got a hold of her, caused some serious injury and she succumbed to her injuries yesterday morning.
  • We have Black Crake that has moved in at the reed bed.  Another new species at the lodge

If you have not been over to Photo-Africa recently, here are a few of the posts form the last week or so.

  • Use the Light
  • Daily Photo:  Ostrich Face
  • Shooting Toads
  • Daily Photo:  Elephant in B&W
  • Book:  Wildlife. Photography. And everything in between.

To view any of the above posts simply click here.  If you have ordered a copy of my book let me know whether you would like softcover or hardcover.  Have ordered both but just need to make sure of numbers!

Be back with more pics soon.
